Erica Roggeveen Byrne brings nearly 20 years of nonprofit and advocacy experience to her work as a campaign consultant for progressive candidates. Erica’s career began in Hartford, coordinating HIV and substance abuse prevention programs, becoming an advocate for equitable access to resources and services for the communities most at-risk. Recognizing the need to build communities where everyone can thrive, Erica began to work with nonprofit organizations providing a wide variety of services, from housing and homelessness prevention to arts education. Moving into the political field in 2017, Erica has worked to build progressive electoral power through municipal, regional, and statewide campaigns. In addition to her political and campaign work, Erica provides strategic planning services to public libraries, teaches public health courses at the University of New Haven, and writes federal and state grant proposals for community-serving nonprofits. Erica is the 2022 recipient of the Arthur Lee Perry award for worker activism and engagement from the CT Working Families Party.
